Arkadag City has become an example of combining modern technologies with careful environmental stewardship. The statement was made by Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, during the leaders’ summit held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), Trend reported Monday.

According to Orazov, the main objective during the city’s construction was to create a modern urbanization model while preserving the natural balance. Arkadag City is developing not only as a platform for implementing smart technologies, but also as an environmentally focused urban project.

The chairman of the State Committee noted that Turkmenistan is one of the sunniest countries in Central Asia, enabling projects in Arkadag City, implemented jointly with banking institutions, to utilize alternative energy sources.

Special attention in Arkadag City is given to social support for children. The city operates a children’s health and rehabilitation center for children requiring special care, equipped with modern medical technology. Alongside this, a specialized medical cluster is being developed in the city, focused on producing medical products using medicinal plants and local raw materials, Orazov said.

The official opening of Arkadag took place on June 29, 2023. Since then, the city has received around 40 certificates from international organizations.
