Turkmenistan’s national equestrian games group Galkynysh took part in the opening ceremony of the 8th International Ethnosport Culture Festival, which is being held in Istanbul from May 21 to 24, according to the TurkicWorld media platform.
The Galkynysh group presented a vibrant performance featuring horseback stunts, traditional costumes, and musical and choreographic compositions.
Particular attention from participants and spectators was drawn to the Akhal-Teke horses specially brought from Turkmenistan. Renowned for their beauty, endurance, and graceful movements, the horses became one of the symbols of the festival and a highlight of the program.
As part of the festival, cultural groups from different countries showcased national traditions, elements of traditional sports, equestrian games, and cultural heritage.
Representatives from more than 20 countries are participating in the festival, including Japan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Lithuania, Russia, Italy, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Bangladesh, Georgia, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Tanzania, Palestine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, and Morocco.
