Turkmenistan to Celebrate Eid al-Adha on May 27–29
Eid al-Adha is being celebrated in Turkmenistan.

National holiday of the Turkmen people, Eid al-Adha, will be celebrated on May 27, 28 and 29, 2026. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held via digital system.

According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the document was adopted to ensure the careful preservation of the long-standing spiritual and moral values of the Turkmen people, to further develop national traditions and customs inherited from ancestors, and to strengthen the unity and cohesion of the nation during the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State, guided by the principles of generosity, goodwill and humanism, as well as in accordance with Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan.

The implementation of the decree has been assigned to all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of ownership form.

During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished that sadaqah given during Eid al-Adha would be accepted and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the participants of the meeting and the people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the holiday.
