Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with German Minister of State for Europe at the Federal Foreign Office Gunther Krichbaum on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council high-level open debate in New York, where the sides noted the steady development of trade and economic cooperation, including long-term and mutually beneficial ties with German companies, and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation in this area.
The sides discussed current issues of Turkmen-German partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry reported Tuesday.
The officials emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries to further develop bilateral cooperation.
Considerable attention was paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including education, human capital development, and the expansion of academic and professional exchanges.

On the following day, May 27, Meredov held talks with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla. The sides discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Cuban cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as interaction within international organizations, primarily the United Nations.
