Türkiye’s Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will arrive in Turkmenistan on June 3 for a working visit to participate in the 9th meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and hold a series of high-level meetings, Anadolu Agency reported Tuesday.
During the visit, Yilmaz will attend a World Turkish Business Council (DTIK) meeting in Ashgabat, meet with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and senior government officials. In addition, the vice president will visit the Turkmentextile Expo 2026 international exhibition.
Yilmaz will hold talks with Nokerguly Atagulyyev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, on June 4. The two sides will also convene the 9th meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Several documents are expected to be signed following the meeting.
Trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Türkiye has shown steady growth in recent years. According to Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, bilateral trade reached $2.2 billion in 2025. The two countries aim to increase that figure to $5 billion in the coming years.
