The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting on Monday with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmen-U.S. cooperation. The importance of regular high-level contacts for strengthening bilateral relations was emphasized.
Particular attention was given to cooperation in political, economic, trade, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The sides exchanged views on joint projects in education, science, and digitalization of the economy. It was noted that Turkmenistan participates in more than 15 U.S. educational programs, and cooperation between universities of the two countries continues to develop.
Issues of cooperation in media, public diplomacy, and communications were also discussed. Special attention was paid to the “Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation” program, which has been implemented in Turkmenistan for 25 years.
The sides confirmed their interest in further developing bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within the “C5+1” format.
