Representatives of Turkmenistan and Mongolia discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in transport and logistics, including railway transport, civil aviation, and the development of international transport routes, according to a report published on Tuesday on the official Facebook page of Mongolia’s Ministry of Roads and Transport.

The issues of cooperation were considered during a meeting between Mongolia’s Minister of Roads and Transport, Borkhuu Delgersaikhan, and Deputy Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, Hezretguly Charyyev, as well as Guvanch Akmammedov, a representative of the Transport and Logistics Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The sides confirmed their readiness to develop cooperation in the railway sector and also discussed opportunities to intensify collaboration in air and road transport. Special attention was given to the formation of new transport flows connecting the countries of Eurasia.

Mongolia expressed interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan within the framework of the “Middle Corridor” project and discussed prospects for developing international transport routes along this direction.

According to Minister Borkhuu Delgersaikhan, the development of transport links with Central Asian countries is one of Mongolia’s transport policy priorities.
