Turkmenistan has received new three-section freight locomotives manufactured by China's CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd, as reported on Wednesday by the Watan Habarlary news program.
Railway specialists and elders welcomed the new locomotives at Ashgabat Railway Station, according to national traditions.
As part of agreements between the Railway Transport Open Joint Stock Company and CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd, major overhaul works completed on two-section freight locomotives operated by Turkmenistan’s railway sector.
The newly delivered three-section locomotives have a freight transport capacity of 6,300 tonnes, while the restored two-section locomotives are capable of pulling up to 4,200 tonnes. Each locomotive section is equipped with six wheelsets, can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, and features an advanced control system.
