Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov, at the same time appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to to Brunei Darussalam. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed relevant decree on June 18, according to Turkmenistan’s official media on Thursday.
Mashalov has served as Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia (residence in Kuala Lumpur) since 2018.
In recent years, he has been entrusted with diplomatic responsibilities in several other countries. Particularly, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2023, to the Republic of Indonesia in 2024 and to the Kingdom of Thailand in 2025.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Brunei Darussalam were established on February 22, 1999. The two countries cooperate in a range of areas, including political and diplomatic affairs, trade and economic relations, culture, and education.
