President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated a Hero of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, head of the Y.A.Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center, commander of the cosmonaut corps Oleg Kononenko on the occasion of his birthday, Turkmenistan’s state media reported on Sunday.
In his congratulatory message, the head of state wished Kononenko good health, long life, happiness, family well-being and continued success in his work on the exploration of outer space.
Kononenko is a Hero of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, leads the cosmonaut corps of the Roscosmos State Corporation. He also holds the rank of first-class test cosmonaut.
Oleg Kononenko turned 62 on June 21.
