President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on a state visit Monday, according to Turkmenistan newspaper.
The President’s aircraft landed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. Azerbaijani officials and members of the Turkmen delegation welcomed the head of state at the airport.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the visit is aimed at further developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan and elevating bilateral relations to a new level.
Azerbaijan is one of Turkmenistan’s close neighboring partners. The two countries cooperate in trade and economic affairs, energy, transport and logistics, communications, agriculture and other sectors.
