TIF and Turkmen Foreign Economic Affairs Bank Discuss Investment Cooperation

The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) discussed prospects for investment cooperation during a meeting in Vienna on June 23, according to official X account of TIF.

Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov met with TIF President and Chairman of the Board of Directors Baghdad Amreyev in Vienna on June 23. During the meeting, the sides discussed regional investment, trade ties and Turkmenistan’s role in enhancing transport connectivity in Central Asia and the Caspian region.

Jepbarov presented the activities of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs as Turkmenistan’s principal state financial institution responsible for cooperation with international financial organizations and foreign partners. The Turkmen side expressed interest in TIF’s activities and in exploring opportunities for cooperation with the fund.

Amreyev briefed the Turkmen side on TIF’s mandate, the fund’s recent areas of activity and its cooperation with international financial institutions, noting the importance of dialogue on investment, private sector development and strengthening economic ties among Turkic states.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue consultations and exchange visits between their headquarters.
