President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent condolences to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani over an explosion at a gas processing plant in the Ras Laffan Industrial City that resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, state media reported on Wednesday.
On behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as personally, the head of state expressed his sincere condolences and words of support to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
According to Qatar's Interior Ministry, the explosion occurred on the evening of June 21 at the Barzan gas plant in the Ras Laffan Industrial City.
Based on Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the blast killed 13 people and injured 66 others.
