National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation on Thursday with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
During the conversation, the sides noted the importance of the traditionally productive relations between the two countries in such areas as culture, science, education, and sports.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ilham Aliyev also exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral relations.
On June 22–23, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, maid a state visit to Azerbaijan, during which high-level talks were held and a number of bilateral documents were signed.
