Turkmen President Congratulates Residents of Arkadag on City’s Third Anniversary

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the residents of Arkadag city on the second anniversary of the city, describing the date as an important event in the country’s political, social and cultural life, according to Turkmenistan’s state media on Sunday.

In his message, the head of state noted that Arkadag has gained international recognition for its modern architecture, national character and advanced technologies. Over the past three years, the city has received prestigious international certificates and awards for its smart city development program, innovative capabilities and environmental performance.

The President emphasized the construction of Arkadag reflects the government’s policy of improving living standards for the population. He added that work is continuing on the second phase of the smart city project in accordance with the “Concept for the Development of Arkadag City for 2024–2052.”

Berdimuhamedov also highlighted the participation of a Turkmen delegation in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, organized jointly with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in Azerbaijan. He said the presentation of Arkadag at the forum was an important step in enhancing the city’s international profile.

The President of Turkmenistan further noted that Arkadag has become a center for charitable initiatives. He cited events marking the fifth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care, as well as the naming of a mosque under construction in the city as the “Spiritual Mosque of Arkadag.”

Concluding his message, Berdimuhamedov wished the residents of Arkadag good health, family well-being and continued success in their work.
