President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd Jung Won-ju. who is visiting the country. During the meeting reviewed the progress on the construction of a mineral fertilizer complex at the Turkmenabat chemical plant in the eastern Lebap province, Turkmen state media reported on Monday.
According to the report, Turkmenistan highly values its friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Republic of Korea. Head of the state noted that the project being implemented by Daewoo Engineering & Construction would help supply the domestic market with products from the country's chemical industry while expanding its export potential.
Jung expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in the company and for the conditions created for its operations in Turkmenistan, saying it was an honor for Daewoo Engineering & Construction to contribute to the country's economic development.
A contract between the state concern Turkmenhimiya and Daewoo Engineering & Construction for the design and construction of the mineral fertilizer complex at the S.A. Niyazov Turkmenabat Chemical Plant was signed in May 2025. Construction officially began in October 2025 during a groundbreaking ceremony attended by President Berdimuhamedov.
