Türkiye has appointed Shener Jebeji as its new ambassador to Turkmenistan, according to a decree signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in Türkiye's Official newspaper, Resmi Gazete, on July 18.

Under the decree, Cebeci, who previously served as deputy director general for Central Asia at Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will replace Ahmet Demirok.

Demirok has been recalled to the ministry's headquarters after serving as Türkiye's ambassador to Turkmenistan since January 2024.

Turkmenistan and Türkiye established diplomatic relations in 1992. The two countries maintain cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian fields, while also expanding collaboration in the energy and transport sectors.
