About 30 representatives of Belarusian companies took part in a working meeting on opportunities to enter the Turkmen market on July 15 at the Brest branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), acoording to BelCCI.
The event was held in a Business Breakfast with a Diplomat format and featured Yury Dmitrichkov, trade and economic counselor at the Embassy of Belarus in Turkmenistan.
Representatives of companies from various regions of Belarus received up-to-date information about the Turkmen market and discussed their specific business interests with the diplomat in one-on-one meetings.
The sectors that attracted the greatest interest included exports of furniture, canned fruit and vegetable products, confectionery, beverages, agricultural machinery, glass, compound feed, livestock equipment, as well as engineering design and logistics services.
Participants also focused on customs regulations, non-tariff barriers, logistics, payment mechanisms and public procurement. The meeting also covered cultural aspects of doing business with Turkmen partners, including traditions, business practices and applicable laws, which participants said play an important role in the success of business projects.
According to BelCCI, the event was organized for its members to support Belarusian companies seeking to enter the Turkmen market. Participants welcomed the format and the opportunity to meet directly with a representative of the Belarusian Embassy's economic service in Turkmenistan.
