Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation on July 20, 2026, to discuss issues on the agenda for Turkmen-Russian bilateral relations, according to Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.
The ministers also focused on strengthening humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. They emphasized the importance of expanding joint educational and cultural projects.
Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov discussed upcoming contacts, including multilateral events at the heads-of-state and high levels scheduled to take place in Turkmenistan in October 2026.
The phone conversation was held at the initiative of the Russian side.
