As part of the country’s socio-economic development efforts, modern railway station buildings will be constructed in Turkmenistan’s Ahal, Balkan and Mary regions. Turkmenistan’s official media reported this on Friday.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Minister Batyr Annayev reported on ongoing efforts to improve the railway transport sector during the regular Cabinet meeting held via a digital system on Friday.

According to the report, the project will help further improve the efficiency of the railway transport sector and create modern and comfortable working conditions for its employees. He submitted relevant proposals to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said effective efforts are underway to modernize the country's railway transport sector. He approved the proposals to construct modern railway station buildings in the Ahal, Balkan and Mary provinces and instructed the deputy prime minister to carry out the necessary work.

The Cabinet meeting also reviewed several other important state issues and adopted relevant decisions.
