National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with members of the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group, who are set to represent the country at the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During the meeting, he observed their training, asked about the lives of the young riders and wished them success in the international competitions, Turkmen state media reported on Wednesday.
Under a decree signed by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, an Organizing State Committee has been established to prepare for the participation of the country's high-level delegation in the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest in the Netherlands. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who chairs the committee, is overseeing the preparations on an ongoing basis.
During the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke with each member of the group, asking about their studies, life goals and families. He emphasized the importance of the country's youth policy, saying Turkmenistan has created all the necessary conditions for the development of the younger generation. He also highlighted the significance of book President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's, Youth Is the Support of the Motherland.
Founded in 2007 at the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group brings together young riders and trick-riding performers. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty expressed confidence that the group would represent Turkmenistan proudly at the World Equestrian Championship and the Akhal-Teke horse beauty contest, adding that its performances would further promote the country's equestrian traditions and the Akhal-Teke breed internationally.
Group members, in turn, expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunities and support provided to them. They pledged to make every effort to perform successfully at the upcoming international competitions and justify the trust placed in them.
