Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Romania Annamammet Annayev held a meeting with President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mihai Daraban, during which the sides discussed prospects for developing port and energy cooperation between the two countries, Turkmen state media reported.

According to the report, the sides reviewed in detail opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, as well as ways to strengthen transport and logistics links between the ports of Constanta and Turkmenbashi.

The head of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry supported the resumption of the AGRI project, aimed at supplying Caspian natural gas to European markets through transport corridors via Azerbaijan and Georgia.

During the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat presented an overview of Turkmenistan’s economic potential, noting the country’s gross domestic product growth of 6.3% in the first half of 2026, as well as its position as the world’s fourth-largest holder of proven natural gas reserves.

The sides also discussed an initiative to establish a regional distribution center for Turkmen products at the Port of Constanta.
