Turkmenistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov met on Thursday with Kazuhiko Amakawa, the newly appointed Chief of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), to discuss major economic projects in Turkmenistan involving Japanese companies, the Turkmen Embassy in Japan reported.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and JBIC. The Turkmen ambassador also congratulated Amakawa on his appointment as the bank's governor.
According to the embassy, JBIC finances several major projects in Turkmenistan implemented with the participation of Japanese companies. These include the gas-to-gasoline plant in Ahal Province, the Garabogaz Carbamide Plant and the Chärjew State Power Plant.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for implementing circular economy projects in Turkmenistan with JBIC's participation.
