An event marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence was held last week in San Diego, United States, bringing together representatives of government institutions, public organizations, media outlets and the community. The event was organized by Fit International, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States reported on Tuesday.
Participants viewed exhibitions dedicated to Turkmenistan’s culture and watched photo and video materials showcasing the country. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United States Esen Aydogdyyev attended the event.

The ambassador conveyed congratulations on the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and noted that celebrations of the independence of Turkmenistan and the United States highlight the importance of sovereignty, national identity, peaceful development and mutual respect between the two countries.
The main part of the program was the presentation of the book “Neutrality of Turkmenistan — A Bright Path to Peace and Trust” by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Fit International President Kirt Edwards delivered remarks highlighting the company’s long-standing cooperation with Turkmenistan. He also congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of Turkmenistan’s independence and neutrality anniversaries.
