Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov met with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, advisor and national coordinator on tourism to the Prime minister of Pakistan and CEO of The Centaurus Group, at the company’s headquarters on Aug. 20, 2026. The parties exchanged views on further expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.
During the meeting, the officials considered opportunities for developing Turkmenistan-Pakistan cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the Pakistani side about events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, as well as efforts to develop national horse breeding and promote Akhal-Teke horses worldwide. The significance of the first Akhal-Teke Horse World Championship, to be held Sept. 4–6 at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre in the Netherlands, was also noted.
The parties expressed interest in establishing and developing cooperation between the relevant departments of Turkmenistan and Pakistan in equestrian sports. In particular, they discussed opportunities for holding joint events, exchanging expertise and expanding contacts between specialists of the two countries' equestrian organizations.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to promote cooperation in sports, tourism, culture and humanitarian ties, as well as to strengthen traditional friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
