Turkmenistan is preparing a draft Law of Turkmenistan “On Electronic Commerce.” Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported at a regular Cabinet meeting held via videoconference Friday, according to Turkmen state media.
According to Gulmanova, work is underway in Mejlis to prepare the draft law “On Electronic Commerce.” Efforts are also continuing to introduce amendments and additions to the Criminal, Customs, Labor, Sanitary and Family Codes and other legislative acts, as well as to provide legal support for Turkmenistan’s accession to international documents.
Preparations are also underway for an upcoming meeting of the Halk Maslahaty and for nominating citizens working in various sectors for state awards.
Gulmanova also noted lawmakers traveled to Uzbekistan to exchange experience in legislative work. Deputies also took part in conferences and meetings organized by United Nations bodies together with relevant government agencies of Turkmenistan.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of thorough preparations for the Halk Maslahaty meeting and continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s legislative framework.
The Cabinet meeting also considered several other issues related to public life and adopted relevant decisions.
