Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremony of the new buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat on the occasion of Knowledge and Students Youth Day, Turkmen state media reported Tuesday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the institute’s new complex, the President noted the comprehensive development of science and education is one of the main areas of state policy. He also highlighted importance is attached to introducing the latest achievements of science into the education system, training highly educated specialists and developing international cooperation.
The Head of state then inspected modern equipment at the architecture and seismic-resistant construction research laboratory. The laboratory has equipment from Italy’s Moho and Sara Electronic Instruments, Switzerland’s Leica and Türkiye’s UTEST companies for conducting earthquake and seismic research, carrying out geodetic measurements, and measuring the thickness of construction materials and concrete. The new educational complex also provides facilities for conducting research and introducing modern technologies into the educational process. These capabilities are important for training specialists for the architecture and construction sector.
According to the report, the new 5,000-seat facility meets modern requirements. It includes a 13-story main building, eight faculties, 28 departments, a library and an assembly hall. The educational buildings are equipped with modern equipment and provide the necessary conditions for professors and teachers to work and students to study. The campus also includes a 2,600-bed dormitory for students and two residential buildings for teachers, each with 40 apartments.
During the ceremony, certificates of compliance with five international ISO standards were presented to the new complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction. The institute was described as the first higher education institution in Turkmenistan and the CIS countries to be certified simultaneously under these five international standards. At the end of the ceremony, the Head of state presented the institute with keys to new vehicles.
