Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended via video link the opening ceremony of the new buildings of the Seýitnazar Seýdi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Türkmenabat, Lebap region, on the occasion of Knowledge and Students Youth Day. Videos showcasing the facilities created at the new complex were shown during the ceremony, Turkmen state media reported Tuesday.
The new educational complex, built by “Nahal” Economic Society, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, is designed for 5,000 students. Covering nearly 26 hectares, the complex includes a main building, educational buildings, an assembly hall, a 1,000-seat cafeteria, six dormitories with a total capacity of 2,000 students, a library, sports grounds and other facilities. Necessary conditions have also been created for students to live, engage in sports and hold cultural events.
The institute’s five-story main building houses eight faculties and 22 departments, as well as an assembly hall and library. Classrooms are equipped with modern equipment and digital technologies. Dozens of laboratories have been established for research in fields including chemistry, biology, physics, fundamentals of labor and technology, and defectology. The complex also has museums of archaeology and ethnography, flora and fauna. The library, designed to hold up to 1 million books, includes a 700-seat reading hall and a 100-seat electronic library.
During the opening ceremony, several international certificates and letters of appreciation were presented to the Seýitnazar Seýdi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute. They included certificates and letters of appreciation from the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University of the Russian Federation, the “Contribution to the Future” charitable foundation, the United Nations Children’s Fund and UNESCO’s Institute for Information Technologies in Education, as well as a membership certificate from the International Association of Universities of UNESCO.
