National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in a general lesson with young people, university students and schoolchildren on Sept. 2 at the Ruhyyet Palace in Arkadag city, Turkmen state media reported Wednesday.
During the lesson, Berdimuhamedov congratulated young people on Knowledge and Youth Day and the start of the new academic year, wishing them good health and success in making a meaningful contribution to the development of their homeland.
In his speech, Berdimuhamedov spoke about personal development, the role of the younger generation in society and the formation of moral values. He also discussed Turkmenistan's achievements, its role in the international community and the country's future goals, stressing the importance of young people implementing ambitious programs for the future of the independent state.
He highlighted patriotism, respect for national heritage and history, education and hard work as key values. Berdimuhamedov called on young people to study the history and cultural heritage of their homeland and follow the traditional moral and ethical values of the Turkmen people.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan's permanent Neutrality in promoting international peace and stability. He highlighted the country's initiatives in transport, energy, the economy and international cooperation.
The lesson also addressed the rapid development of new technologies and artificial intelligence. Berdimuhamedov stressed that young people should make effective use of digital technologies and said Turkmenistan should develop an “Smart Society” concept with the participation of young people.
The speech also included proposals to expand international cooperation in education, establish international science, education and youth clusters in Turkmenistan, and involve young people in intellectual cooperation.
National Leader noted the important role teachers play in educating and raising the younger generation and said they should continuously improve their professional qualifications. He also noted that new buildings of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, along with several secondary schools and kindergartens, had been opened at the start of the new academic year.
At the end of the general lesson, Berdimuhamedov wished young people good health, happiness and great success in their studies and lives.
