Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan discuss expanding migration cooperation

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discussed ways to expand cooperation in migration, legal affairs and law enforcement during consular consultations in Ashgabat, Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported Wednesday.

The consultations were held at the level of the heads of the consular services of the two countries' foreign ministries. The sides discussed key issues in bilateral consular cooperation, as well as the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of both countries.

The sides also considered opportunities to further develop cooperation and exchange experience between the migration services of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. Particular attention was paid to improving cooperation between the competent authorities of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the sides signed a protocol on the consular consultations. The document reflects the main outcomes of the discussions and agreements reached on further developing consular cooperation.
