China and Central Asian countries held a ministerial-level meeting on public security and internal affairs in Beijing on Sept. 7, discussing cooperation in law enforcement and security, the Xinhua News Agency reported.
Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong and heads of delegations from Central Asian countries on public security and internal affairs attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed deepening practical cooperation in areas such as combating transnational crimes, migration management, protecting overseas interests and building the capacity of law enforcement agencies. Participants also exchanged views on strengthening security for major projects within Belt and Road cooperation.
During the meeting, Wang said China is ready to work with Central Asian countries to make the mechanism of the ministerial conference on public security and internal affairs a model of cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in all fields. Representatives of the Central Asian countries expressed their readiness to implement the outcomes of the meeting, deepen cooperation in law enforcement and security, and contribute to lasting security and prosperity in the region.
