French Ambassador Presents Credentials to Turkmen President

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alena Grand, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the Ambassador presented her credentials to the Head of state, Turkmen state media reported on Wednesday.

The Ambassador expressed her sincere gratitude to the Turkmen President for receiving her and noted that France attaches great importance to developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan. She also conveyed warm greetings from President Emmanuel Macron to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of state conveyed his best wishes to the French President, congratulated the Ambassador on her new diplomatic assignment and wished her great success in her responsible work.

During the meeting, France was noted as one of Turkmenistan’s key partners in Europe. Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing cooperation in trade and economic relations, energy, culture and humanitarian affairs, as well as other areas.

The sides expressed satisfaction that Turkmenistan and France cooperate not only bilaterally, but also within the framework of the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The Turkmen President noted that Turkmen-French relations are being consistently developed based on the principles of mutual trust, respect and openness. Head of state expressed Turkmenistan is ready to jointly implement new initiatives in energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, science and culture.

At the end of the meeting, Alena Grand, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan, said it was a great honor for her to serve in Turkmenistan as a diplomat. She pledged to work to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
