President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on discharging conscripted servicemen to the reserve and conducting the next conscription of Turkmen citizens for military service, Turkmen state media reported Thursday.
Under the decree, servicemen of the Armed Forces and other troops and military units of Turkmenistan who have completed the service periods established by the Law of Turkmenistan “On Military Duty and Military Service” will be discharged to the reserve from October through December 2026. During the same period, male Turkmen citizens who have reached the age of 18 by the date of conscription and have no right to exemption or deferment from military service will be called up. Male Turkmen citizens under the age of 27 who have lost their right to deferment will also be called up.
To implement the decree, President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a corresponding order.
Under the document, the ministers of defense, internal affairs and national security, as well as the heads of the State Border Service, the Presidential Security Service and the State Migration Service, were instructed to discharge servicemen who have completed the service periods established by the Law of Turkmenistan “On Military Duty and Military Service” in a solemn ceremony in accordance with approved plans. They were also instructed to reward servicemen who have distinguished themselves in combat and social-humanitarian training.
The presidential decree enters into force on the day of its official publication.
