Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission to Hold 14th Meeting in Moscow

The 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation is planned to be held in Moscow, Russia, Turkmenistan’s state media reported.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on preparations for the meeting during Friday’s regular Cabinet meeting, held via a digital system.

According to the report, the meeting is expected to discuss ways to develop trade and economic relations between the two countries and cooperation opportunities in the fuel and energy, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, finance and banking, customs and digital technology sectors. The sides also plan to exchange views on expanding bilateral ties in education, science, health care, culture and sports, as well as environmental protection, the state cadastre and cooperation between business communities. In this regard, the Deputy Prime minister submitted a relevant proposal for the President’s consideration.

Head of the state said Russia is one of Turkmenistan’s close partner states and that the two countries maintain friendly relations and stressed the importance of thorough preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission, supported the proposal on the composition of the Turkmen side of the commission and instructed the Deputy Prime minister to carry out the relevant work.
