The Turkish Grand Prix of Formula 1 will be held at TOSFED Istanbul Park from 2027 through 2031, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Turkmenistan reported.
The 2027 Turkish Grand Prix is planned for Oct. 1-3, with practice sessions on Oct. 1, qualifying on Oct. 2 and the main race on Oct. 3. Formula 1 will return to Türkiye after a six-year break.
TOSFED Istanbul Park is considered one of Formula 1’s technically challenging circuits. The circuit, which is about 5.3 kilometers (3.3 miles) long, is known for elevation changes and opportunities for overtaking. Its eighth turn, a high-speed section with multiple apexes, is one of the circuit’s defining features. The 2027 race will also be the 10th Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix held in Türkiye.
Formula One’s return to Türkiye is expected to help further enhance the country’s international sports profile and develop sports tourism. According to Formula 1, nearly 19 million people in Türkiye watch its races, while about 7.5 million follow them on social media.
The 2027 Formula 1 calendar includes 24 Grands Prix, with the Turkish Grand Prix scheduled for October, after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
