Uzbekistan is participating in efforts to develop logistics infrastructure at the Turkmenbashi, Aktau and Baku ports on the Caspian Sea, as well as the Poti and Anaklia ports on the Black Sea, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
In particular, an agreement has been signed to establish a logistics center at Poti port, and a feasibility study for the project is being prepared. Opportunities for participating in the development of Anaklia port and for cooperation on the construction of the Nakhchivan railway, which would provide access to Türkiye’s Samsun and Istanbul ports, are also being explored.
These projects will provide greater opportunities to diversify transport routes for exporting Uzbek textile, chemical, agricultural and mining and metallurgical products to foreign markets.
Along with developing international transport corridors and expanding access to global markets through seaports, Uzbekistan also plans to expand its network of logistics centers within the country.
Uzbekistan also plans to double the volume of transport services by 2030, attract $9.1 billion in investment to the sector and increase services exports to $5.7 billion.
