Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Turkmen state media reported on Tuesday.
During the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness and great success in his work for the well-being of the Turkmen people.
The Uzbek President also asked Berdimuhamedov to convey his warm greetings to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. He also highlighted the importance of efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries based on friendship and good-neighborly ties.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Mirziyoyev for his congratulations and good wishes, saying Turkmenistan highly values its relations with Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with its close neighbor and reliable partner.
The Turkmen President noted that Turkmen-Uzbek relations are actively developing on the basis of good-neighborliness, friendship and mutual support. Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Mirziyoyev for his personal contribution to developing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two sides noted that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan successfully cooperate not only bilaterally but also within international organizations, and support each other’s international initiatives and proposals.
