Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova met Friday with Türkiye’s new Ambassador to Turkmenistan Shener Jebeji. The sides discussed further development of interparliamentary cooperation and expanding bilateral contacts, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan reported.
During the meeting, the role of parliamentary diplomacy in developing bilateral relations was noted. The sides discussed improving the work of interparliamentary friendship groups, strengthening cooperation between relevant committees, and holding meetings and consultations between the parliaments.
The Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan congratulated the Turkish diplomat on his appointment as Ambassador and wished him success in further developing Turkmen-Turkish relations. The meeting also noted that bilateral cooperation is developing based on mutual respect, trust and equality.
The sides paid particular attention to the participation of a Turkish parliamentary delegation in the International Women’s Dialogue and an international conference on demographic issues, which will be held in October in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Concluding the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and said it was a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan.
