Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has been awarded the Turkmenistan jubilee medal titled “Participant in the Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan.” The decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan was adopted based on proposals submitted by people’s representatives, major public associations, labor groups and citizens of the country, Turkmenistan’s official media reported Friday.
According to the document, the decision was adopted in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and in connection with the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. Serdar Berdimuhamedov was also awarded the jubilee medal for his services in strengthening and protecting the state independence of Turkmenistan, increasing the country’s defense capabilities, and ensuring the security of the Motherland and citizens, as well as law and order.
The decision also notes the Head of state’s personal contribution to strengthening stability and peace in the world through historical initiatives based on Turkmenistan’s principles of permanent neutrality, enhancing the country’s international standing, and educating military personnel in the spirit of love and loyalty to the Motherland, courage and integrity, as well as his dedicated work over many years.
The decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan was signed by Chairwoman Dunyagozel Gulmanova. It was adopted in Ashgabat on Sept. 25, 2026.
