National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented an Ahalteke horse to Liu Shuqing, head of the horse breeding company Daqing Huiyou Breeding Co., Ltd. of the People’s Republic of China, as part of the opening ceremony of the the Ahal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan, Turkmen state media reported on Tuesday.
Based on a decision by President of Turkmenistan and President of the International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and taking into account Liu Shuqing’s work in developing and breeding Ahalteke horses, increasing their number and promoting the Turkmen art of horse breeding around the world, a bay-colored horse named Dosthan, born in 2023, and its certificate were presented to him.
Liu Shuqing said that being in the homeland of Ahalteke horses and being presented with an Ahalteke horse was a great honor for him. He proudly noted in particular that his company has 1,200 horses, including more than 600 Ahalteke horses.
National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also spoke at the opening ceremony, noting that Ahalteke horses are the national pride of the Turkmen people and that work on breeding the horses and conducting breeding activities on a scientific basis is continuing.
The President of Turkmenistan’s Ahalteke horse complex has 1,200 seats, and its grounds include open and indoor arenas, racing tracks, modern stables, laboratories designed to scientifically study horse breeding, health and physical structure, as well as stands for watching horse races.
