Winners of the festive horse races, Alabai beauty contest and national wrestling goresh competition were announced during celebrations marking the opening of the Ahal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan. A wedding ceremony for newlyweds was also held as part of the event, and they were presented with the keys to a new apartment, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
The Daghan horse, trained by young horse trainer Kerimguly Berdimuhamedov, took first place in the race among master jockeys and won the grand prize. The horse was ridden by National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The winner was presented with the keys to a Range Rover Sport. The National Leader of the Turkmen people handed the award to the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, specifically to the military unit where Sgt. Kerimguly Berdimuhamedov serves. Defense Minister and Secretary of the State Security Council Begench Gundogdyyev gratefully accepted the vehicle.
The Şöhratly horse from Ashgabat took second place, and its rider, T. Pirmyradov, received the keys to a Toyota Fortuner. The stallion Azamat from Ahal province took third place, and its rider, H. Ashyrov, was presented with the keys to a Toyota Camry. Arvana, the winner of the Turkmen Alabai beauty contest, was awarded a Toyota Corolla.
Among the palwans, M.Nurberdiyev won in the up-to-80-kilogram weight category, G.Hemrayev in the up-to-90-kilogram category, S.Rejepov in the up-to-100-kilogram category, and A.Allaberdiyev in the up-to-110-kilogram category. N. Baydogdyyev was named the strongest among the main palwans. Particularly distinguished wrestlers were presented with domestically produced televisions.
A wedding ceremony for the newlyweds was also held as part of the celebrations. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the symbolism of their wedding coinciding with the country’s 35th anniversary of independence and, as a wedding gift, presented them with the keys to a new apartment. The newlyweds expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for the gift.
