The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) held 222 exchange auctions in January-September 2026, registering 23,460 contracts, Turkmenistan’s official media reported, citing a report by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev at a Cabinet meeting held Friday via digital system.
According to the report, the growth rate of trade turnover at the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations reached 113.2% in January-September compared with the same period last year.
In addition, the growth rate of production at the Ministry of Textile Industry reached 106.4% compared with the same period last year. Cotton yarn production reached 102.3%, cotton fabric 100.9%, garments and knitwear 102.6%, and leather products 100.5%.
Meanwhile, the growth rate of total revenue at enterprises of the state association Türkmenhaly reached 107.6%. During the reporting period, the growth rate of work completed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was 107.3%, with 18 exhibitions and 10 conferences held. The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs recorded growth rates of 110.4% in agricultural and food production and 109.2% in industrial goods production.
After hearing the report, the Head of state said effective use of production facilities in the trade sector should be kept under control, along with ensuring markets and retail outlets are supplied with food and other goods in demand. The head of state also instructed the deputy prime minister to continue modernizing textile enterprises.
