National Leader of Turkmen People Honors the Departed on Remembrance Day

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, honored the memory of those who passed away during a working visit to Arkadag city, where he inspected construction work on the Arkadag Ruhy Mosque and its madrasa, the official Turkmen media reported Monday.

During the visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov toured the Arkadag Ruhy Mosque, designed to accommodate 30,000 people, and its related facilities, including a 1,500-seat sadaqa hall, and inspected the ongoing work. National Leader visited the madrasa under construction and reviewed the work there, stressing the need to provide the necessary conditions for young people studying religious subjects to properly master their lessons.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Remembrance Day is observed in Turkmenistan on Oct. 6 and said it would be appropriate to pray for those who passed away, as well as for the prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.

The chief imam of the Arkadag Ruhy Mosque prayed to the Almighty for peace for the souls of those who passed away, prosperity for the country and a happy life for its people, as well as good health and long lives for the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan and success in their efforts toward their great goals.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also held a working meeting with D. Orazov, chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City under the President of Turkmenistan, and G. Mammedova, mayor of Arkadag city. The meeting included a report on the construction of social facilities in the second phase of Arkadag city, including a school specializing in foreign languages and a kindergarten.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty stressed the need to ensure the highly organized celebration of the professional holiday of health care and pharmaceutical industry workers, which is widely observed in Turkmenistan. In this regard, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov called for handing over keys to new homes, organizing large-scale celebrations of the significant date, improving work at health centers and taking the necessary measures to enhance disease diagnosis.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people specifically stressed the need for thorough preparations for the opening ceremony of the second phase of the new city.
