Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov proposed creating a unified e-commerce platform to develop mutual electronic trade at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, held in the Avaza National Tourism Zone of Turkmenistan, according to the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Kyrgyz President, creating a unified e-commerce platform would help expand regional producers’ and consumers’ access to regional products, as well as create additional opportunities to promote products. Sadyr Japarov noted the need to develop appropriate logistics infrastructure covering areas such as the delivery of goods, their placement in warehouses, customs clearance and tracking of their movement alongside the development of e-commerce.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of developing industrial ties among the countries of the region and proposed identifying specific mutually beneficial projects in such areas as agricultural processing, light industry, construction materials production and logistics. According to Japarov, such projects should clearly specify the participants, sources of financing and implementation timelines.

The Kyrgyz President also noted that transport connectivity directly affects the effectiveness of economic cooperation, identifying the reliability of transport routes, the cost of cargo transportation and the predictability of transit conditions as key factors in the region.

In addition, Sadyr Japarov emphasized the importance of protecting glaciers and mountain ecosystems and making rational use of natural resources for the sustainable development of the countries of the region. He also said that developing a common tourism space between Central Asia and Azerbaijan would help further strengthen ties among the peoples and proposed developing cooperation based on the principle of “one trip — several countries.”
