Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met Oct. 9 with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who visited Turkmenistan to attend high-level international events in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, Turkmen state media reported.
During the meeting with Pezeshkian, the two sides discussed the development of bilateral cooperation, including in the fuel and energy, transport and communications, and agricultural sectors. Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the Iranian President’s participation as an honorary guest in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States and in the Caspian Environmental Summit.
Following the meeting, Berdimuhamedov and Pezeshkian reaffirmed their commitment to steadily expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting with Lukashenko, the sides discussed cooperation in transport, chemicals, oil and gas, and textiles, as well as in science, education, culture and the arts. Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmen students study at universities in Belarus and expressed interest in holding reciprocal cultural days, exhibitions and other joint events. Turkmenistan and Belarus also cooperate within the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Following the meeting, Berdimuhamedov and Lukashenko expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to strengthen.
