Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part Saturday in a nationwide tree-planting campaign marking the start of the country’s autumn greening season, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.

The Chairperson of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, representatives of ministries and government agencies, diplomatic missions and international organizations, as well as members of the public attended the event.

The nationwide tree-planting campaign was held across all regions of the country, including the city of Arkadag, where Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen People, also took part.

According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the campaign is part of the country’s environmental policy aimed at preserving natural resources, expanding green spaces and developing forest areas. Greening efforts also contribute to the creation of new parks and the enrichment of the country’s plant life.

The campaign has become a traditional part of nationwide events and aims to foster a careful attitude toward nature, particularly among the younger generation.
