A telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State congratulated his colleague on his election to the post of President of Kazakhstan and wished him good health, prosperity and great success at the highest state post.
President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev thanked for the congratulations and warm words, and stressed the continued commitment to friendly relations of Kazakhstan with Turkmenistan.
Durint the conversation, the Heads of States discussed the priority areas of bilateral cooperation. In this regard, it was noted that there is a multi-faceted potential for further expanding productive partnerships in the trade-economic sphere, the transport and communications sector, the oil and gas industry, agriculture and in a number of other sectors.
In the elections held on June 10, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev scored 70.76% of the votes and took office on June 12.
