Mawy Kenar joint venture
In February 2018, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree on the implementation of the contract between the Turkmennebit State Concern and the Mawy Kenar joint venture for cleaning contaminated oil land in the Balkan province.
The main objective of the 15 year contract is to clean the sands where oil had been discovered during historical drilling activities and independent geological surface seepage, and to recover the oil for commercial use.
Gazyk has formed a joint venture with Benel Technical Services from Canada and Hazar Balyk for this particular contract. The JV is named Mawy Kenar with Gazyk as the main operator. This is one of the biggest environmental, ecological clean-up projects in Turkmenistan, and a high profile contract for Gazyk.
Gazyk aims to apply its accumulated international and local experience in the operations at Caspian region and Central Asia. The company participated at the 9th International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan in 2018 as a Platinium Sponsor.
