Mary Farmers Plan to Harvest Over 200,000 Tons of Sugar Beet
The harvest of sugar beet will start in October.

Farmers in 10 etraps of Mary velayat plan to harvest more than 200,000 tons of sugar beet from 14,900 hectares, where they are currently sowing the crop on the remaining areas.

Germination is observed in previously planted areas. The sowing is mainly carried out on the lands where the wheat harvest has been obtained this year.

For the production of 224,000 tons of sugar beet, 17,900 hectares have been allocated to the farmers in Balkan and Mary velayats in May. The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection and administrations of Balkan and Mary velayats have been obliged to provide necessary technical and scientific support to the farmers.

The harvest of sugar beet will start in October and continue until the spring sowing of cotton and vegetables. Sugar beet is resistant to cold and capable to survive during winter.
