Construction of the new, modern administrative center of the Ahal velayat will begin upcoming days. The buildings and facilities will be fully commissioned in September 2021.
The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the corresponding decree at a session of the Cabinet of Ministers held on Friday. According to the decree, government institutions and organizations are authorized to conclude contracts with local construction companies to design and construct buildings and facilities in the new administrative center of the Ahal velayat.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the velayat administrative center, to be built in the Goktepe etrap, took place in April with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan.
The new city is designed for more than 70 thousand residents. The construction of more than 400 cottages and multi-storey buildings will be carried out in two stages.
The new administrative center of the velayat will include 10 kindergartens with 320 places each, 19 secondary schools with 720 places, including primary and secondary special schools, two art schools, as well as social facilities.
